Tian'anmendong[1] (simplified Chinese: 天安门东站; traditional Chinese: 天安門東站; pinyin: Tiān'ānmén Dōng Zhàn; Wade–Giles: Tʻien1-an1-mên2 Tung1 Chan4) is a station on Line 1 of the Beijing Subway. It provides the most direct access to many Beijing tourist sites, including Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the National Museum of China.
Location
The station is located on the eastern side of Tian'anmen Square and next to the north entrance of the National Museum of China. During major events hosted on the square itself, Tian'anmenxi and Qianmen are occasionally closed in conjunction with this station.[2][3][4][5][6]
Station layout
The station has an underground island platform.
Exits
There are four exits, lettered A, B, C, and D. Exit B is accessible.[7]
