Prix Iris for Best Editing
The Prix Iris for Best Editing (French: Prix Iris du meilleur montage) is an annual film award presented by Québec Cinéma as part of the Prix Iris awards program, to honour the year's best film editing in the Cinema of Quebec.
Until 2016, it was known as the Jutra Award for Best Supporting Actor in memory of influential Quebec film director Claude Jutra.[1] Following the withdrawal of Jutra's name from the award, the 2016 award was presented under the name Québec Cinéma.[1] The Prix Iris name was announced in October 2016.[2]
Richard Comeau received six awards from eight nominations, both records, including two consecutive awards in 2013 and 2014, and again in 2016 and 2017. Mathieu Bouchard-Malo is the only editor to receive two nominations in the same year in 2019.
Thirteen editors received nominations for films they directed:
- Michel Jetté was nominated in 2001 for Hochelaga.
- Simon Sauvé was nominated in 2006 for Jimmywork.
- Xavier Dolan was nominated in 2011 for Heartbeats (Les amours imaginaires), in 2020 for Matthias & Maxime and won the award in 2015 for Mommy.
