Miss Grand International 2024 will be the 12th edition of the Miss Grand International pageant on 25 October 2024.
Luciana Fuster of Peru will crown her successor at the end of the event.[1][2]
Background
Location and date
According to Bright TV, after the release of the 4th generation of the pageant's main winner crown in June 2022, the president of the contest, Nawat Itsaragrisil, additionally stated that the host country for Miss Grand International 2025 was already decided but could not be revealed at the moment due to some contract agreement,[3][4][5] while the host country for the 2024 edition was in the process of negotiation.[3]
The mutual agreement between the 2024 host country, Myanmar, and the Miss Grand International PCL was reached in July 2022 with the memorandum of understanding between the Myanmar local organizer, Glamorous International, and the MGI PCL, signed in early 2023, at the MGI Hall, Bangkok, Thailand.[6] It was then officially announced on the grand final stage of Miss Grand International 2023 on 25 October 2023;[7] however, Miss Grand International Organization later announced on May 22, 2024 that Myanmar was no longer the host country for the 12th edition and new host country will be revealed later.[8]
Selection of participants
Contestants from thirty countries and territories have been selected to compete. Two of these delegates – Canada and Gibraltar – won the title as a supplemental title in the multiple-award national pageant and eleven – Albania, Argentina, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Cuba, Curaçao, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Ivory Coast, Paraguay, and Venezuela – were appointed to the title without competing in the 2024 national pageant.[citation needed]
Debuts, returns and withdrawals
This edition will also feature the returns of Cameroon and Ivory Coast which last completed in 2014, Tanzania in 2018, Kenya in 2020. And Bangladesh, China, Curaçao, Portugal & Sri Lanka which last completed in 2022.[citation needed]
