John Iliffe (født 1. mai 1939) er en britisk historiker. Han er professor i moderne afrikansk historie ved University of Cambridge og forsker ved St. John's College. Han har skrevet spesielt om kolonitiden og den post-koloniale perioden i Øst-Afrika og generelt om det øvrige Afrika.
For boken The African Poor: A History fikk han Herskovitsprisen fra The African Studies Assosiation of the United States.
