《Lizard》는 영국의 프로그레시브 록 밴드 킹 크림슨의 세 번째 스튜디오 음반으로 1970년 12월 영국의 아일랜드 레코드가 발매했으며 1971년 1월 미국과 캐나다의 애틀랜틱 레코드가 발매했다. 이 음반은 《In the Wake of Poseidon》에 이어 그룹의 과도기적인 라인업으로 녹음된 두 번째 연속 킹 크림슨의 음반이다. 이 밴드는 베이시스트 겸 보컬리스트 고든 해스켈(이전 음반의 〈Cadence and Cascade〉에 참여한 것에서부터), 드러머 앤디 맥컬로치가 밴드의 공식 멤버로 참여한 유일한 음반이다.

발매

1970년 12월 11일 아일랜드 레코드(카탈로그 번호 ILPS 9141)에 의해 발매된 《Lizard》는 영국 음반 차트에서 29위에 올랐다.[8] 이 음반은 1971년 1월 3일(카탈로그 번호 SD 8278) 애틀랜틱 레코드에 의해 미국과 캐나다에서 발매되었으며, 이 음반은 《빌보드》 113위에 도달하게 된다.[9] 흥미롭게도, 《Lizard》는 전 킹 크림슨 멤버인 에머슨, 레이크 & 파머의 데뷔 음반(피처링 그렉 레이크)과 이언 맥도널드와 마이클 길스의 단독 발매와 동시에 애틀랜틱에서 발매되었다.

이 음반은 1989년과 2001년에 CD 발매가 있었고, 그 당시 프립에 의해 새롭게 리메이크되었다. 최신 버전은 2009년 10월에 발매되었으며, 영국의 음악가 및 프로듀서 스티븐 윌슨이 프립과 공동으로 만든 DVD 오디오의 5.1 서라운드 사운드 믹스와 서라운드 믹스를 기반으로 한 새로운 스테레오 전송이 포함되어 있다.
