Shout at the Devil è il secondo album in studio del gruppo musicale statunitense Mötley Crüe, pubblicato il 26 settembre 1983 dalla Elektra Records.
Nel giugno del 2017 la rivista Rolling Stone ha collocato l'album alla quarantaquattresima posizione dei 100 migliori album metal di tutti i tempi.[5]
Il disco
Questo è considerato da pubblico e critica l'album più metal della band con canzoni cariche di temi come il sesso, la droga, violenza e la ribellione giovanile. La band in questo periodo propone un look tipicamente glam con capelli cotonati e trucco pesante. Il titolo del disco e la prima copertina, raffigurante un pentacolo rovesciato, suscitarono le polemiche di gruppi cristiani e conservatori che accusarono la band di satanismo.[6]
Fu il primo vero successo del gruppo e raggiunse il diciassettesimo posto della Billboard 200.[7] I singoli Looks That Kill e Too Young to Fall in Love entrarono nella Billboard Hot 100,[7] mentre la titletrack Shout at the Devil si piazzò nella Mainstream Rock Songs,[7] una classifica riguardante le canzoni con maggiore messa in onda sulle principali stazioni radio rock statunitensi. L'album contiene anche una cover di Helter Skelter dei Beatles.
