Renal calyx adalah ruangan di dalam ginjal yang dilalui urin. Minor calyx mengelilingi puncak renal pyramids. Urin yang dihasilkan di dalam ginjal akan disalurkan ke minor calux melalui renal papilla. Dua atau tiga minor calyx akan bergabung membentuk major calyx, tempat urin mengalir melalui renal pelvis menuju ureter.

Fungsi

Peristaltik yang terjadi pada otot polos yang berasal dari dinding calyx mendorong urin melalui renal pelvis dan ureter menuju ke kandung kemih.

Signifikansi klinis

"Staghorn calculi" adalah batu ginjal yang dapat menyumbat renal calyx.

Renal divertikulum adalah divertikulum renal calyx.^[1]^[2]
