54°11′18″N 19°0′10″E / 54.18833°N 19.00278°E / 54.18833; 19.00278Stawiec [ˈstavjɛt͡s] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Nowy Dwór Gdański, within Nowy Dwór Gdański County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 9 kilometres (6 mi) south-west of Nowy Dwór Gdański and 32 km (20 mi) south-east of the regional capital Gdańsk.
Before 1772 the area was part of Kingdom of Poland, in 1772-1919 of Prussia and Germany, in 1920-1939 of Free City of Danzig, and in 1939-1945 of Nazi Germany. For the history of the region, see History of Pomerania.
