Show map of British ColumbiaMount Loomis is located on the border of Alberta and British Columbia on the Continental Divide. It was named in 1918 after Frederick Oscar Warren Loomis, a Canadian Army general who served in World War I.[1][2][4]
Geology
Mount Loomis is composed of sedimentary rock laid down during the Precambrian to Jurassic periods. Formed in shallow seas, this sedimentary rock was pushed east and over the top of younger rock during the Laramide orogeny.[5]
