Ümit Akdağ (born 6 October 2003) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Ligue 1 club Toulouse, on loan from Süper Lig club Alanyaspor.[1]
Club career
Alanyaspor
After playing at the junior level for Steaua Bucharest and Chelsea FC, Ümit arrived in Turkey with the Alanyaspor team. He debuted in the Süper Lig for the Turkish team on 3 June 2023, when Alanyaspor lost 5 - 1 away to Trabzonspor. Ümit entered the field in the 46th minute replacing Umut Güneş.
Loan to Göztepe
In the 2023-2024 season, Ümit was loaned in the second league to the Göztepe SK team, where he made his debut on 19 August 2023 in the away match against Ümraniyespor, the final score being 0 - 0. He scored the first goal in the match won at home with Şanlıurfaspor, score 3 - 0, Ümit scoring the 1 - 0 goal.
Loan to Toulouse
On 23 August 2024, Akdag joined Toulouse on loan.[2]
International career
Ümit was called by coach Daniel Pancu to the Romanian U21 national football team for the matches against Albania and Switzerland, playing for the first time on 17 November 2023 in the match won 5 - 0 against Albania. Ümit entered the field in the 71st minute replacing Cătălin Vulturar.[3][4]
